Essay: Female Education

Introduction: In this modern age, we cannot deny the importance of female education. Men and women are similar to the two sides of a coin. One is incomplete without the help of other. So, the development of both men and women is a prerequisite for the overall development of the country. For any kind of progress and prosperity of any country it is essential to educated the women folk of a country. Why to educate the female: It is said thattoday's girls are the future women and every woman is a potential mother. As the mothers play an important role in making and shaping their children, they must be educated. The lack of education is the main barrier of their potentialities. It is true that an educated woman can easily know better how to rear up her children, educate them and make them worthier. An educated mother takes her social responsibilities and contribute to the overall development of the country. She becomes an asset for her own and the country. Female education at present and past: The present condition of female education in the Asian country like Bangladesh, India and Nepal are not satisfactory at all. Many illiterate parents think that educating their daughters is just the wastage of money and time. They are often try to married off their girl children. They often oppose the female education. They want to confine women to wall of their house. Most of the parents think that their girl children should play traditional role as mother, wife and homemaker. Therefore, household chores such as cleaning, washing, cooking, giving birth, rearing children becomes their only duties. Thus a women passes the whole life. Gender discrimination: Gender discrimination is one of the great obstacles on the way of female education in some developing and under developing countries in world. It is really a matter of great regret that girls are born in an unwelcome world and in many cases receive discriminatory treatment in the male dominated society. Due to, the lack of proper care and education, they are bound to engage in familial chores, rearing children, cooking, cleaning and other domestic works. The Trend is Changing now: Truly speaking, the deprived condition of women has been changing for recent years. Today most of the women have started to come out of their cocoons. They are trying to operate their life as their own wish. They are working outside, going school-college-universities, contributing in the society and country. Having received education, they are joining a different types of professions. Conclusion: In the long run, it can be said that educating women means to develop the country and nation. If we do not make the clear for getting education for them, it will be done great mistake for our own. Because, progress and prosperity of any nation depends much on the number of educated women. Therefore, there is no exception to be conscious about the education of womenfolk.
